These White Chocolate Oreo Cookie Balls are the perfect treat, and only have THREE ingredients!
I cannot believe the holidays are almost over. My kitchen has produced so many sweet treats over the past few weeks. Classic Peanut Butter Cookies, Chocolate Crinkle Cookies, Chocolate Chip Cookies, and of course fudge! Well I have one more sweet recipe for you. This recipe is perfect for a New Years Party, football party (all of these college bowl games coming up!), or just another family/friend gathering before the holidays are officially over!
It’s always so bittersweet when the holidays come to a close. I absolutely love all of the Christmas decorations, holiday flavors, and holiday cheer. However, the holidays can be a bit stressful with the shopping (last minute shopper right here!), and trying to fit in adequate family time, as well as all of the holiday parties.
We went to a Christmas party last week and I took my peanut butter cookies, as well as these sweet little babies. Everyone loved both of them. These were gone almost immediately. Oreo cookies, cream cheese, and white chocolate – it’s such a great combination! YUM is really all that I have to say. Well, and one more thing… only three ingredients! That makes this the absolute perfect treat! And it’s super easy.
You don’t have to have a food processor, but it sure makes things easier. If you’re using a food processor, pulse the cookies until they are fine crumbs, and then add in the cream cheese. I cut the brick of cheese up into smaller bits so that it can adequately be distributed. Pulse until thoroughly combined, and then transfer to a small bowl and put in the freezer for 15 minutes.
Alternatively, you could get a large Ziploc bag and put the cookies in there and then smash them with something heavy (frying pan, or rolling pin). Transfer to a bowl, and then add in the cream cheese and combine – probably best to use your hands here. Once combined, put in freezer for 15 minutes.
Make small 1 inch balls of the Oreo dough with your hands. You really don’t want them bigger than an inch, it’s the perfect size. Once I have formed all of the cookie balls, I put them in the freezer for 30 more minutes.
Melt the chocolate in the microwave (in 30 second bursts, stirring thoroughly after each burst), or in a double boiler. Dip the ball in the white chocolate. You can use this candy tool, or just use a small spoon with a butter knife. Let the excess chocolate drip back into the bowl, then lay them on a cookie sheet lined with parchment paper. If you want to decorate the cookie balls with sprinkles, do it while the chocolate is still warm (and not set). Keep them refrigerated until ready to serve.
These cookie balls will be the first thing to go at your next party or gathering!
