Sausage and Cheddar Quiche
    • 1 9 Inch Pie Crust,Store bought or homemade
    • 1lb of Breakfast Sausage, crumbled, browned, and drained
    • 4Large Eggs, Slightly Beaten
    • 1Cup Half and Half (or milk, or buttermilk)
    • 1/4Tsp Onion Powder
    • 1/4 Tsp Dried Thyme
    • 1 to 1 1/2Cups Shredded Cheddar Cheese
    • Salt and Pepper to taste
    1. Preheat oven to 350 degrees.
    2. Roll out pie crust if needed to fit in your pie dish (note- if you are using a store bought crust – let your crust sit out for for a few minutes as it makes it easier to work with).
    3. Prebake crust: either poke holes all around your pie crust with a fork so your crust won’t puff up (don’t worry- the holes will close together in the oven once baked), or put a piece of parchment paper over the crust and use pie weights or dried beans to weigh the crust down. The fork method is easy, and is what i usually do.
    4. Put the piecrust in the preheated oven for approximately 8-10 minutes, and then set aside to allow it to cool.
    5. In a small bowl, mix the eggs with the half and half. Add in the onion powder, thyme, salt and pepper.
    6. Put the sausage in the bottom of the pie crust, and then pour your egg mixture on top. Add the shredded cheese.
    7. Put it in the oven for approximately 35 to 45 minutes. You don’t want any wiggle in the pie. Mine usually takes about 40-42 minutes. All ovens are different so just watch yours.
    8. Wait 5 to 10 minutes before cutting so that it can set up. ENJOY!
