Easy Bacon Cheddar Quiche
    • 19-inch Pie CrustStore Bought or Homemade
    • 8Slices Bacon, Browned and Crumbled
    • 4Large Eggs, Slightly Beaten
    • 1Cup Half and Half, Cream, or Milk
    • 1/2Tsp Onion Powder
    • 1/4Tsp Dried Thyme(or fresh if you have it)
    • Salt and Pepper to taste
    • 1 to 1 and a halfCups Grated Cheddar Cheese
    • Chives for Garnish
    1. Preheat oven to 350 degrees.
    2. Roll out pie crust if needed to fit in your pie dish (note- if you are using a store bought crust – let your crust sit out for for a few minutes before rolling it out as it makes it easier to work with).
    3. Prebake crust: either poke holes all around your pie crust with a fork so your crust won’t puff up (don’t worry- the holes will close together in the oven once baked), or put a piece of parchment paper over the crust and use pie weights or dried beans to weigh the crust down. The fork method is easy, and is what I usually do. Put the piecrust in the preheated oven for approximately 8-10 minutes, and then set aside to allow it to cool.
    4. In a small bowl, mix the eggs with the half and half. Add in the onion powder, thyme, salt and pepper.
    5. Put most of the crumbled bacon into the bottom of the pie crust, layer about half of your cheese on top of the bacon, and then pour your egg mixture on top. Add the remaining cheese and bacon.
    6. Bake in the oven for approximately 35 to 45 minutes. You don’t want any wiggle in the pie. Mine usually takes about 40-42 minutes. All ovens are different so just watch yours. I usually put a piece of tin foil over mine around the 30 minute mark so the crust doesn’t brown too much.
    7. Wait 5 to 10 minutes before cutting so that it can set up. ENJOY!
