These blondies are the ultimate treat. They are moist, chewy, and super easy to make!
The flavor of these blondies is out of this world. These beautiful babies have a crackled top, have a slight butterscotch flavor accompanied with a soft chocolate decadence. The chocolate chips are swirled into the warm batter, which creates pockets of molten chocolate goodness.
The blondies are also moist and chewy. Secret to the moistness = COLD EGG. I know – typically when baking, we use room temperature ingredients. But here, the secret to these blondies is the cold egg.
This blondie recipe is an absolute no-fuss type of recipe. You only need one saucepan and a wooden spoon or rubber spatula. This is definitely my kind of recipe. If you need a quick treat to take to a holiday party or just want to make something sweet for your family or a friend (OR YOU), I got you.
One of the best parts of this recipe – no room temperature ingredients! No waiting for the butter or egg to come to room temperature. So that means – you can make this recipe whenever you want, with no prep. It also comes together very quickly. I love these kinds of recipes.
You probably have a lot of the ingredients for this recipe on hand. To make these blondies – you will start with cold butter. Melt the butter in a saucepan over medium-low heat. Once the butter is melted, take the saucepan off of the heat, and add in the brown sugar, vanilla, and salt. Stir to make sure the mixture is combined and smooth. Then add in the COLD egg and stir like crazy to mix it in. The sugar mixture is warm, so the egg needs to be mixed quickly. Once that is combined, add in the flour, the chocolate chips, and nuts. If you don’t want to use chocolate chips, you could absolutely just use nuts. Walnuts or pecans work well. Combine and then put the mixture into the baking dish. The mixture is incredibly thick. I use my fingers to spread out the batter in the pan. Your hands are your best kitchen tools! Pop in the oven for 23-26 minutes. I take mine out right at 23 minutes. They are perfection then. However, all ovens are different – so just watch yours. You’ll want a few little moist crumbs on the toothpick, but not wet batter.
And you’re done. OMG. You will love these blondies. I took these to a coworker the other day as she loves blondies, and she literally couldn’t stop eating them. I think you will love these, too.
Enjoy with a cold glass of milk!!
