These cookies are a combination of delicious chocolate chip cookies with yummy birthday cake! These cookies are the best of both worlds and are sure to be your new favorite!
I love everything cake batter flavored or birthday cake flavored! The Halo Top Ice cream in the birthday cake flavor, the Zaxby’s shake in cake batter flavor – anything cake batter or birthday cake is my love language. It’s just sooooo delicious. If birthday cake just happens to be your love language too – I have a treat for you today. These are the ultimate cookies. They are loaded with chocolate chips, sprinkles, and cake mix – what’s better than that?
You will need some of the dry cake mix from a box of yellow or vanilla flavored cake mix. You can certainly use the funfetti cake mix – but you’ll want to skimp a bit on on your sprinkles. You’ll use a cup and a fourth of the dry cake mix – and then just save the rest of the mix for the next time that you make the cookies (because I promise you’ll make these again!). Once you’ve made the dough – refrigerate it for two hours and then bake. The dough is refrigerated so that it can be sure to firm up. Firm dough = cookies that don’t spread too much and run into each other when baking.
After baking the cookies, as soon as I pull them out of the oven, I gently add a few more chocolate chips on tops of the cookies – just press them down a little on top of the soft cookies. It makes for a prettier cookie. The cookies won’t look like they are done, but once they set – PERFECTION.
I keep this dough in my freezer so that I can just pull some out, and bake some cookies at any given time. If we unexpectedly have people over and I need to make a little treat – OR if I just want a sweet treat! This dough freezes really well. I usually bake half of the batch and freeze the rest. It freezes perfectly for up to 3 months.
I get so many requests for these cookies! My husband and coworkers cannot get enough of these cookies! I promise that these cake batter chocolate chip cookies will be your new favorite!
ENJOY with a cold glass of milk – mmmmm.. so good!
